Board of Directors
The Board of Directors provides governance and fundraises on a volunteer basis for CAP.
Board members are:

Arvian Harper
Board Member
Arvian Harper is an education professional with over 15 years of experience, primarily in Denver Public Schools. Currently, she serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the Sims-Fayola Foundation, where she oversees all operational and administrative functions, contributing to the overall success and growth of the organization.

Adrienne Atencio
Board Member
Adrienne Atencio is the Executive Director of High Valley Community Center(HVCC) in Del Norte. Adrienne joined HVCC in 2007 as the first employee and has enjoyed growing the organization from a small startup to what it is today. HVCC serves approximately 70% of the Upper Rio Grande School District through after-school, Friday, and summer programming.

Elaine Menardi
Board Member
Elaine is the Founder and Executive Director of Colorado AeroLab. She is a Learning Design Expert and STEM Education Specialist who believes in the power of a growth-mindset and knows that the best learning happens when teachers and students see themselves as partners who explore questions and discover new ideas together.

Jack Curry
Board Member
Jack Curry currently serves as the Executive Director of Riverside Education Centers (REC) which provided free after-school tutoring and enrichment programs to 1,400 Mesa County students across 16 schools in 2023-24. Prior to this, Jack filled a variety of roles at REC, where he worked alongside a team that helped scale and refine REC’s programs.

Eric Golden
Board Member
Eric Golden is a dedicated facilitator, coach, and advocate for high-quality out-of-school time (OST) programming. With over 15 years of experience working in a variety of fields including youth development, leadership coaching, and community engagement, Eric is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom. His expertise in emotional intelligence, facilitation training, and program development helps to empower educators, youth professionals, and the communities they serve.

Sustainability
The purpose of the Sustainability Action Team is to ensure the sustainability of CAP by seeking out grant opportunities, identify new funding sources including new CAP programs, and build relationships with individuals, businesses and organizations in the public and private sectors.
Events
The purpose of the Events Action Team is to support the Communications & Events Manager in planning the logistics of the CAP Events throughout the year. The goal of the events is to expand awareness of CAP as well as provide much needed professional development opportunities throughout the state.
Quality & Professional Development
The purpose of the Quality & Professional Development (PD) Action Team is to to build a Statewide Quality System that ensures quality, access, capacity, and accountability in Afterschool Programs that serve K-12 grades. The Quality and PD Action Team is tasked with creating a statewide coordinated professional development system aligned with the Quality Guidelines and learning community, as well as supporting professional development opportunities throughout the year.
Advocacy & Awareness
The Advocacy & Awareness Action Team promotes out-of-school-time programming across the state of Colorado and liftsup the successes of Colorado program providers, in order to increase access to high-quality programming, and to spark interest in and opportunities for sustainable funding, policy changes, and ongoing stakeholder engagement. The Advocacy & Awareness Action Team works with Colorado Afterschool Partnership (CAP) Staff and the Youth Advocacy Team to plan advocacy and events including Lights on Afterschool, Afterschool Professional Awareness Week, and National Summer Learning Week and helps build capacity to effectively advocate for OST policy and funding.
