Grantee Sustainability

Rooted in CAP’s Quality Guidelines, this Action Team is focusing on working with afterschool programs who are current state and federal funding grantees at risk of losing their funding. Our goal is to help afterschool programs identify successes and challenges, current champions and building relationships, and opportunities for alternative funding sources.

Data Action Team

CAP is actively working with partners to bring back a statewide Afterschool map. To do this, we are collecting data on afterschool programs, including location, number of staff and youth served, kinds of activities and programming offered, number of days and hours in operation, and more. This data doesn’t just inform the map, it helps CAP better raise awareness about afterschool programming to community stakeholders and advocate for sustainable funding for programs.

Advocacy & Awareness

The Advocacy & Awareness Action Team promotes out-of-school-time programming across the state of Colorado and liftsup the successes of Colorado program providers, in order to increase access to high-quality programming, and to spark interest in and opportunities for sustainable funding, policy changes, and ongoing stakeholder engagement. The Advocacy & Awareness Action Team works with Colorado Afterschool Partnership (CAP) Staff and the Youth Advocacy Team to plan advocacy and events including Lights on Afterschool, Afterschool Professional Awareness Week, and National Summer Learning Week and helps build capacity to effectively advocate for OST policy and funding.
Events

In the past, the Event’s team was key in planning and pulling together CAP’s statewide conference and the Spring Showcase. Currently, the Team works on promoting and selecting awardees for Best of Colorado, planning Thriving OST Professional Development Sessions, and other seasonal events such as Your Place in Space career exploration events.
