Out-of-School-Time Champion: Michael Hart

Arapahoe Ridge Elementary BASE Program, Westminster
I am honored to nominate our School Program Director, Michael Hart, for his outstanding leadership, unwavering dedication to children, and steadfast support of his team. His leadership sets the tone for a positive, inclusive, and high-quality program where students feel safe, valued, and inspired every day. He leads with integrity, vision, and consistency, always prioritizing what is best for the children and families we serve.
Michael's commitment to kids goes far beyond daily responsibilities. He takes the time to build meaningful relationships with students, ensuring each child feels seen, heard, and supported. He creates engaging programs that foster learning, creativity, and personal growth, and he approaches every challenge with patience, compassion, and a solution-focused mindset. Michael's dedication has made a lasting impact on countless students and families in our school community.
Equally impressive is Michael's support for his employees. He empowers his staff by fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and open communication. He actively listens, values input, and provides guidance and encouragement that helps his team grow professionally and personally. Michael leads by example, works alongside his staff when needed, and consistently recognizes their efforts and achievements. His supportive leadership builds morale, strengthens teamwork, and creates an environment where employees feel appreciated and motivated to do their best work. Michael's impact on both students and staff makes him exceptionally deserving of this nomination.
When COVID hit the schools, a program was developed to help kids still learn at school. Michael supported the pod system to keep kids safe and supported. He also helped a little girl who was in a wheelchair and would go and help her out of her chair and help her on the swings; he does this for all special needs children. Michael is very passionate and kind. On top of both of those stories, he is also always willing to jump in and help any kid who needs him, whether he is part of his group of students or not. He is loved by everyone and always willing to help no matter what it takes. - Yury Schlosser
