Monte Vista Kids Connection: Empowering Youth with Independence, Creativity, and Support
At Monte Vista Kids Connection, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where youth in the San Luis Valley can thrive. We inspire children to reach their full potential, fostering creativity, independence, and self-confidence. Our goal is to create a space where every young person is cared for unconditionally.
We are a licensed childcare program serving school-aged youth (ages 5-18) year-round, offering afterschool care, a 10-12 week full-time summer program, and services during most school breaks. Our program is designed to meet the needs of our students, offering structure and support while allowing for fun and creativity.
Each day at Monte Vista Kids Connection focuses on academics and social-emotional development. We provide daily academic support, including homework assistance, STEM activities, reading, and games. Our strong relationships with local school districts and teachers ensure we’re on the same page, helping students succeed.
Fridays are dedicated to STEAM activities, social-emotional learning (SEL) power hour, and physical education. These activities, combined with free time for older students, create a balanced, enriching experience for all ages.
Our program serves 65-70 kids after school daily, with 35-50 kids attending on Fridays. During the summer, we serve 75-80 students, providing a full-time, engaging environment for growth and learning.
Monte Vista Kids Connection is a fee-based program, but we work to keep it affordable. Thanks to our MOU with Social Services, families earning less than $75,000 annually can attend for free, and others pay just $25 per week. We believe in making our program accessible to all.
Located near the elementary school with bus services for both elementary and middle school students, Monte Vista Kids Connection provides a convenient and supportive space for every child to flourish.
