Black Lives Matter

The writers and editors of Science Buffs are horrified by the recent murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Elijah McClain, and the many other racially motivated killings that have been ongoing for decades. We stand in solidarity with all who are speaking out against racial injustice. To our Black writers, and readers: we are behind you, one hundred percent. To our Black colleagues across all STEM fields, we support you.

We must all speak up against racism and inequality when we see it and constantly work to eliminate these injustices. We will amplify the works of Black writers and creators, and write consciously and with intention about science from Black scientists. This will not stop when the glass is swept up. We recognize that the fight against a systemically racist norm is ongoing.
